“ Last Sunday, I went to the UWS Bareburger location with a sweet tooth. The young Latina lady who facilitated my order (in the PM hours), was warm, welcoming and kind. Maybe it was my imagination, but it felt like she put extra care into making me feel comfortable as well as making my item. Much appreciated! : ) And the shake itself tasted great — it was so yummy! Now, I’m a matcha gal, so that part wasn’t a surprise. But the texture and overall yumminess of the vegan coconut ice cream ideally meeting the matcha was such a delightful surprise! : ) It felt like a decadent treat, while still being healthy. The UWS Bareburger ambiance was good vibes....and though it took about fifteen minutes to receive my shake (they were pretty busy then, on a weekend afternoon), it was worth the wait. But once we sat down and started talking with the staff, our assumptions were completely shattered. The staff were incredibly—times a hundred—friendly and genuinely passionate when explaining the menu. You could tell they were proud of the food they serve. Every question we had was answered clearly and confidently. We went during happy hour, and they recommended a deal where we could choose three items for 18. We initially thought the portions might be small and considered ordering extra burgers, but they kindly advised us not to—so honest! :) We trusted their suggestion, and they were right. It was more than enough food for two people. As for the taste, the smash burgers were easily among the best we’ve ever had.
